Rank follows signed work. A season finished badly does not count. Holder is eligibility, not a promise.

1. 1

   Hand

   First season. Supervised chores. Badges may be started, not finished alone.

2. 2

   Scout

   Three signed badges and a full season on a host farm.

3. 3

   Crew

   Can lead a small job — a fence line, a flock move, a repair day — with a mentor on call.

4. 4

   Steward

   Can run a modernization: scope the work, do it, and leave records the family can use. At least two desk badges.

5. 5

   Holder

   Adult. Steward of land or of a company formed with the people who do the work. You step into the holdings. The scout record stays, the way a rank stays after the season is over.
